“There are no boundaries, only crossing points,” writes Marlen Haushofer in her story, “The Cave.” Under this premise, the KPH-Edith Stein, which traditionally places a high value on children´s and young adult literature, will present a Literature Convention on 12th November 2019 focusing on this area. Children´s and young adult literature should not be regarded as a closed system, but as a crossing point between words and writing, language, music, art, culture and religion, the transition and the recipients and more.
The artists Barbara Frischmuth, Willy Puchner and RatzFatz, together with students and researchers, will discuss which steps can be taken to address these transitions. The positioning of children´s and young adult literature in schools, and teaching and research in this area at the KPH-Edith Stein will be made more apparent. The results will be published in a conference transcript and subsequently form a part of the methodological guidelines in this area of literature. Research-led teaching will be supported by the participation of students.
