If one thing is true about the Covid-19 pandemic, then it is the fact that it has confronted us with core questions about our lives, about who we are and who we want to be – as individuals, as humans, as societies.
Core questions also hit the education sector: What is education really about? Are exams the most relevant? What about the social factor of school life?
Obviously, RE as a subject in public education is not exempt from being put to this acid test. The magnifying glass of the pandemic offers the unique chance to discern more closely, what really counts in terms of RE when things get tough.
In times of crisis, we can discover the best and the worst about ourselves. This research project aims at contributing to this goal by collecting reflections on this from all over Europe – to make them fruitful for the future of RE – regarding the question: What does Covid-19 reveal to RE specialists?
